1,500 Mansarovar pilgrims stranded, 2 dead in Nepal

Over 1,500 Kailash Mansarovar pilgrims from India stranded in Nepal

More than 1500 Indian pilgrims undertaking Kailash Mansarovar Yatra are stranded in Nepal due to heavy rains and bad weather. While two pilgrims, Satya Lakshmi Narayana Subba Rao from Andhra Pradesh and Narayanam from Kerala have died.

According to External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, “About 525 pilgrims are stranded in Simikot, 550 in Hilsa and another 500 are stuck in Tibet side”

The representatives deployed in simikot are also in touch with Police authorities check post in Hilsa. They will take care of all the pilgrims by providing them support.

Also, the tour operators have been given instructions to hold pilgrims back in Tibet side as the medical and civic facilities are inadequate on the Nepal side.
