Coronavirus: 5 states including Punjab continue to report hike in new cases

Coronavirus India: Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, and Gujarat continue to witness an upsurge in the daily new cases of coronavirus.

India’s total Active Caseload of coronavirus stands at 1.68 lakh (1,68,358) as of Tuesday morning as the country added 12,286 new cases in the last 24 hours.

Coronavirus India: Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, and Gujarat continue to witness an upsurge in the daily new cases of coronavirus.

With this, the country’s present active caseload consists of 1.51 percent of India’s total Positive Cases.

80.33 percent of the new cases are from 5 States.

Coronavirus India: Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, and Gujarat continue to witness an upsurge in the daily new cases of coronavirus.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra continued to report the highest daily new cases at 6,397 followed by Kerala with 1,938 while Punjab reported 633 new cases of coronavirus. Two states, Maharashtra and Kerala alone account for 67.84 percent of total active cases.

Likewise, the Central government is continuously engaging with the States and UTs recording a higher caseload of active cases and those reporting a rise in the daily new cases of COVID-19.

The States and UTs, thus, have been advised to maintain a continued rigorous vigil for containing the spread of COVID-19.

It asserted that there was a need for effective testing, comprehensive tracking, prompt isolation of positive cases, and quick quarantine of close contacts.
