Coronavirus: India confirms second case, China toll reaches 304

Coronavirus in India: The second positive case of novel coronavirus has been found, in Kerala on Sunday. According to a statement by the government, the patient has a travel history from China. Meanwhile, the patient has been kept in isolation in a hospital. As per reports, he is stable and is being closely monitored.

It is pertinent to mention that the first confirmed case of the coronavirus in India had also been reported from Kerala on January 30, as confirmed by the Union Health Ministry. Also, the coronavirus death toll has surged to 304 following 45 new deaths in China's Hubei Province.

The virus started in Wuhan city in December and has since then spread to various places across the world. Meanwhile, the confirmed cases in China have now climbed past 14,000. Likewise, China has imposed travel restrictions, affecting the movement of 56 million people in more than a dozen cities.

Health authorities across the world are taking action to prevent a global pandemic as the virus continues to spread, with cases reported in Australia, France, United States and seven Asian countries besides China. Also, World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared the coronavirus outbreak as a global health crisis. Prior to this, several countries have sped up the evacuation process.
