Nawanshahr has reported a fresh case of coronavirus from Balachaur Tehsil on Saturday. According to the information, a resident of Boothgarh village in Balachaur Tehsil of Nawanshahr district has tested positive for the disease.
He had returned from Jammu and Kashmir. Nawanshahr was the first district to report a coronavirus death in the state. A man identified as Baldev Singh died due to coronavirus. Afterward, the district reported a total of 18 more cases. Of 18, all the coronavirus patients had cured and discharged.
Soon after the Nawanshahr was declared the corona-free, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had said that "In a long fight against coronavirus, Punjab has finally started to revive against Corona with Nawanshahr and Moga coming out of this deadly epidemic." Also, Captain Amarinder Singh had thanked citizens of the state for their co-operation and support.
However, with the new case of coronavirus in Nawanshahr, the total count has increased to 20 out of which one is dead and 18 have been cured and discharged.
