Date announced for reopening of schools in Haryana for students of classes 6-8

While students have been waiting for the reopening of schools in Haryana, the state education minister Kanwar Pal Gujjar on Wednesday announced that "We're going to soon resume classes for students of 6th to 8th standard."

Kanwar Pal Gujjar announced that schools for students of class 6th to 8th will reopen from February 1. He also said that once these classes get underway, the government will think about resuming classes for primary classes.

"We've thought about reducing school syllabus and holding examinations in April," the Haryana Education Minister said.

The schools were closed in the wake of a nationwide lockdown announced in the month of March to contain the spread of coronavirus.

It is pertinent to mention that the Haryana government had announced the reopening of schools but closed them after few students contracted COVID-19 that forced the authority to shut down the schools to ensure the safety of students.

Earlier this month, the Punjab government had ordered to reopen the educational institutions following the decline in numbers of coronavirus cases.
