Diljit Dosanjh Day: Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has added another remarkable achievement to his growing list of international recognitions. The Los Angeles City Council has officially declared January 6, 2027, as "Diljit Dosanjh Day," honouring his contribution to taking Punjabi music to a global audience and increasing South Asian representation in mainstream entertainment.
The announcement came during a special event in Los Angeles, where a civic resolution was presented in recognition of Diljit's influence as a singer, actor and producer. The resolution was introduced by Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez.
Diljit Dosanjh later shared moments from the ceremony on social media, giving fans a glimpse of the special occasion. In the video, he can be seen receiving the framed resolution and expressing his gratitude. Dressed in his trademark turban along with traditional Punjabi attire, the artist appeared visibly moved by the honour.
