‘Kumkum Bhagya’ actress Sanchita Ugale dies by suicide in Nalasopara
PTC Web Desk: Television actress Sanchita Ugale, known for her appearances in popular shows such as Kumkum Bhagya and Wagle Ki Duniya, died by suicide at the age of 22. The tragic incident occurred on June 14 at her residence in Nalasopara East, Maharashtra.
According to police officials, Ugale was found hanging inside her bedroom at the Sai Santoshi Building in Aachole Village. Preliminary investigations indicate that she allegedly used a saree to hang herself from a ceiling fan between 7 pm and 7:30 pm.
Family members reportedly broke into the room after finding the door locked from inside. She was immediately taken to Vasai-Virar Municipal Hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Following the incident, officers from Achole Police Station reached the spot and initiated legal formalities. An inquest was conducted before the body was sent for post-mortem examination.
Based on a complaint lodged by her father, Machhindra Ugale, the police registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) on June 15.
Investigators have not yet established the motive behind the incident. Police officials said all possible angles are being examined and further inquiries are in progress.
The news has left the television fraternity and her admirers shocked, as the young actress was considered a promising talent in the entertainment industry.
Sanchita had gradually made a name for herself through television, films and OTT projects. She gained popularity for portraying Diya Tandon in Zee TV's long-running drama Kumkum Bhagya and later appeared as Ruchita Jaitley in Wagle Ki Duniya.
She also featured in Dangal TV's Dilwali Dulha Le Jayegi, where she played the lead role of Sukoon opposite actor Sorab Bedi.
Apart from television, Sanchita worked in films and web projects. She portrayed the younger version of Tara Rani in the Vicky Kaushal-starrer Chhaava and was also seen in Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout alongside Manoj Bajpayee.
