PTC News Desk: Salman Khan’s upcoming war drama, which was earlier titled Battle of Galwan, has now been renamed Maatrubhoomi. On Monday, the actor shared a new poster of the film on social media revealing the updated title. In the caption, he wrote, “May War Rest In Peace,” along with the hashtag #Maatrubhumi. Salman also tagged the film’s director Apoorva Lakhia, co-actor Chitrangda Singh, and his production banner Salman Khan Films, which is backing the project.

The poster shows Salman injured and covered in blood as he stops a pole wrapped in barbed wire from hitting him, with the film’s new title prominently displayed. However, the poster does not mention a release date. Earlier promotional material had announced that the film would release on April 10.

The teaser, released in December, showed Salman leading Indian troops in a close combat fight against Chinese forces in Eastern Ladakh. It received some criticism from viewers who felt that one scene—where Salman holds a barbed-wire bat while facing the enemy—looked similar to Jon Snow’s iconic moment in the Game of Thrones episode Battle of the Bastards.

Salman was also criticised for maintaining a calm expression in the scene. Responding to the criticism, the actor said that his character is a colonel, and an exaggerated scream would not suit the character’s personality or rank.
