PTC Web Desk: An FIR has been registered in Panchkula against a song titled 'Tateeree' following allegations that the track and its video contain obscene content and portray women in an objectionable manner.

According to police officials, the case has been filed at the Cyber Crime Police Station in Sector 20, Panchkula, based on a written complaint submitted by Abhay Chaudhary. The complainant alleged that the song, which has been circulating widely on social media and online platforms, uses offensive language and gestures that send a negative message to society.

The complaint specifically mentions the official YouTube channel of rapper Badshah, where the song 'Tateeree' was released. The complainant claimed that certain lyrics and visual elements in the video are highly objectionable and inappropriate.

According to the FIR, the video depicts girls wearing school uniforms and portrays a school-like setting in a manner that the complainant considers objectionable. The complaint argues that such representation promotes obscenity and undermines the dignity of women.

The police have taken cognisance of the matter and registered a case under Section 296 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita as well as Sections 3 and 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986.

The complainant also stated that such content could negatively influence children and young audiences and may promote inappropriate attitudes in society. He urged authorities to take strict legal action and impose restrictions on the circulation of the song.

The police said further investigation is underway and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings.
