Government of India compulsorily retires 15 senior custom officials

The Government has compulsorily retired 15 of the senior customs officials, here on Tuesday. The list of the officers retired includes the ranks of Principal Commissioner, Commissioner, Additional Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner of Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC).

Earlier, the government retired the 12 senior income tax officers on the charge of corruption and extortion from the prominent businessmen who were accused of helping self-styled godman Chandraswami.

Likewise, an IRS officer in Noida on the post of Commissioner was asked to retire earlier this month due to the charges of sexual harassment on him by two lady IRS officers of Commissioner rank.
