International Leaders Congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi On Expected Landslide Win

As the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its lead campaigner Prime Minister Narendra Modi proceed to a landslide victory on the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, international leaders have already begun congratulating their Indian counterpart at his party's extraordinary performance in the general elections.

With exit polls predicting a clean sweep for the saffron party and its allies, celebrations have broken out in and around BJP offices across India.

The first to extend his wishes to the Prime Minister was Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena who took to micro-blogging website Twitter to congratulate Prime Minister Modi on his return to power. "Congratulations on your victory and the peoples re-endorsement of your leadership. Sri Lanka looks forward to continuing the warm and constructive relationship with India in the future," said Sirisena.
