Nabha village: 7-year-old boy mauled to death by stray dogs

A seven-year-old boy lost his life on Sunday after stray dogs attacked him at Mehs village of Nabha in Patiala district.

Victim Manish was attacked by a group of stray dogs on Saturday and he succumbed to his injuries at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, in Chandigarh on Sunday.

Manish went to the fields to answer the call of nature. After a few minutes, two labourers saw the child being mauled by dogs.

Vicitm’s father Ram Babu said the child was dragged by the dogs into the muddy fields nearby.

Nabha subdivisional magistrate (SDM) Jashanpreet Kaur said she has called a meeting with senior medical officer and block development and panchayat officer on Monday to decide the steps to be taken to tackle the stray dog menace.

Village panchayat member Puran Singh said the government should construct dog houses for stray dogs.
