Bhopal police rules out murder, says Twisha Sharma died by suicide; lookout notice issued against husband

According to officials, the investigation indicates “anti-mortem hanging" — suggesting the hanging occurred while she was alive — with no evidence of homicide at this stage.

PTC News Desk: Bhopal Police has dismiised tha claims that Twisha Sharma was murdered and asserted that she died by suicide despite her family levelling criminal charges against the newly married woman's husband and mother-in-law.


Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar said the findings from pos mortem examination and evidence collected so far point out towards death by suicide. According to officials, the investigation indicates “anti-mortem hanging" — suggesting the hanging occurred while she was alive — with no evidence of homicide at this stage. 


“What we have found so far from the post-mortem report and other evidence that we have collected is that it is a case of suicide and not of murder," Kumar said. 


"According to our investigation so far, it is a case of anti-mortem hanging," said Kumar, adding that the evidence collected by the police so far indicates that this was a clear case of suicide.


Meanwhile a lookout notice has been issued against Twisha's husband, Samarth Singh, a Bhopal-based advocate who is named a accused in the case. The FIR also mentions his mother Giribala Singh, a retired judge.


While Samarth has beeb absconding since his wife's death, his mother has openly claimed that Twisha was addicted to drugs and her family had disowned her after pushing her into the glamour industry.



Twisha Sharma, a 33-year-old former Miss Pune, had appeared in the Telugu film Mugguru Monagallu. She held an MBA degree and had worked for several years in Delhi before her marriage.
