Chandigarh encounter: Haryana gangster shot in exchange of fire with Chandigarh Police

Chandigarh encounter: A notorious Haryana-based gangster was shot in exchange of fire with the Chandigarh Police's operation cell team in the early hours of on Wednesday. Police nabbed the gangster after multiple rounds of firing from both the sides following a dramatic chase.
The accused has been identified as Mukesh Golu a resident of Gohana in Haryana. He sustained a bullet injury in his leg and has been admitted to the hospital in Sector 16.
The exchange of fire followed credible inputs about Mukesh's presence in the city. Acting on the inputs, Chandigarh Police launched operation to arrest him after brief exchange of fire, Five empty bullet shells were also recovered from the spot. As per information, the accused had come to Chandigarh to visit his sister, and the police got a tip-off about his presence. They then cordoned him off near the rally ground in Sector 25.
About five rounds were fired in total, with three shots fired by the accused and two by the police.
During the exchange, the accused was shot in the leg, after which the police overpowered him. Weapons and other materials were recovered from him. The accused is a Haryana-based criminal and was also wanted by the Chandigarh Police.
The accused has been identified as Mukesh Golu, a resident of Gohana in Haryana. He sustained a bullet injury in his leg and has been admitted to the hospital in Sector 16 in an injured condition.
