Polling across the 12 wards was conducted on November 30, recording a turnout of 38.51%. The bypolls were necessitated by 12 vacancies created after 11 councillors were elected to the Delhi Assembly and one to Parliament, including Rekha’s own seat in the Shalimar Bagh–B ward. Among the wards, Chandni Mahal registered the highest voter turnout at 55.93%, while Greater Kailash saw the lowest at 26.76%.


PTC News Desk: Counting has begun for the by-elections in 12 wards of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). The results are expected to indicate the current public support for the BJP and the AAP, while also giving the Congress an opportunity to regain its influence in Delhi politics. Of the 12 seats that voted on November 30, nine were earlier held by the BJP and three by the AAP. Special attention is on the outcomes in the Shalimar Bagh B and Dwarka B wards.
