Delhi weather update: Temperature likely to hit 40 degrees by next week, experts warn of dry winds

According to experts, the rise in temperature is due to clear skies, no rainfall, and the weakening of cool northwestern winds.

Delhi weather update: New Delhi continued to see rising temperatures on Saturday, and the India Meteorological Department has predicted that the heat will increase further in the coming days.


Minimum temperatures are expected to be around 18–20°C by Sunday and may rise to 20–22°C by Tuesday. Maximum temperatures could reach 35–37°C by Sunday and may go up to 38–40°C by next Wednesday.


Experts have also warned of dry and warm winds in the coming days. During Sunday, gusty winds of 15–25 kmph, with speeds occasionally touching 35 kmph, are likely during the daytime.


"Gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 6-7°C during next 7 days. Prevailing below normal Maximum temperatures are likely to become normal during next 2 days and above normal to appreciably above normal thereafter,” IMD mentioned in its forecast.



According to experts, the rise in temperature is due to clear skies, no rainfall, and the weakening of cool northwestern winds. Continuous sunshine without cloud cover is expected to push temperatures higher.
