PTC News Desk: Two unidentified assailants on Thursday opened fire at a gym owned by Punjabi singer Guru Randhawa in Delhi's Pashchim Vihar area. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the attack citing the singer's reported proximity to Bollywood actor Salman Khan.
Preliminary investigation revealed that two assailants arrived on motorcycle their faces covered with cloth, and fired several rounds at the 24HS Fitness gym's glass facade before fleeing the spot.
Soon after the shooting, an audio clip and a social media post surfaced online, claiming that the attack had been carried out by the Bishnoi gang. The post was allegedly issued in the names of gang members Tyson Bishnoi, Aarzoo Bishnoi and Hari Boxer.
In the audio clip, an unidentified person claiming to be associated with the gang alleged that singer Guru Randhawa was targeted because of his close association with Salman Khan.
The speaker also described the attack as "just a trailer," suggesting further threats.
However, police officials have urged caution, stating that the authenticity of both the audio clip and the social media post has not yet been verified.
Police said several teams have been formed to identify and arrest those responsible. Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the area and collecting forensic evidence as part of the ongoing probe.
Guru Randhawa has not issued any public statement on the incident so far.
