IndiGo flight escapes disaster: Emergency landing in Rajkot after smoke detected mid-flight
IndiGo smoke incident: An IndiGo flight travelling from Mumbai to Dubai made an emergency landing at Rajkot airport in Gujarat on Monday after smoke was reportedly detected in the aircraft’s cargo hold, according to sources.
The flight, 6E 1452, was carrying 194 passengers when the crew noticed the smoke. The pilots immediately alerted Rajkot airport authorities and requested an emergency landing. The airport subsequently declared a full emergency as the aircraft approached Rajkot.
The plane landed safely, and all passengers were evacuated from the aircraft without any injuries or reported casualties.
Rajkot airport director Diganta Borah confirmed the incident and said the aircraft had landed safely after smoke was detected in the cargo hold.

"An IndiGo flight operating from Dubai to Mumbai made an emergency landing at Rajkot airport after smoke was detected in the cargo hold area. The aircraft landed safely, and all passengers are safe," Borah said.
The reason behind the smoke was not immediately clear. Further details about the incident and the condition of the aircraft are awaited.
