Uttarakhand, February 9: Police discovered the half-eaten body of a missing woman in the Corbett Tiger Reserve's buffer zone. Kamala Devi, 38, had been missing since Wednesday evening from a village in the Salt area of Almora district.
The body was discovered near the Badangarh canal by forest guards, according to Kumaon Prasanna Kumar Patra, Chief Conservator of Forest. Patra reported that it is unclear whether Kamala was killed by a tiger or a leopard at this time.
Concerns have been raised about the safety of nearby villages, as well as the need for increased safeguards to protect both wildlife and local residents. To determine the cause of Kamala's death, authorities are currently investigating the situation and conducting a thorough examination of the area.

The Supreme Court has ordered a halt to construction in tiger reserves, national parks, and wildlife sanctuaries.
The Supreme Court of India has ordered that all construction activities in tiger reserves, national parks, and wildlife sanctuaries be halted. This decision follows a recent uproar over the Uttarakhand government's proposal to construct animal enclosures within Jim Corbett National Park.
The decision was based on the recommendations of a court-appointed panel, which recommended that the guidelines for establishing zoos and safaris within tiger reserves and wildlife sanctuaries be withdrawn or amended to discourage non-site-specific tourism activities.
