Hemkund Sahib yatra resumes after two-day halt due to rain, snow; weather clear
PTC Web Desk: With improvement in the weather in Uttarakhand, the Hemkund Sahib yatra resumed on Saturday. Amid heavy rain and snow, the yatra had been suspended for the past two days.
However, the trek route was cleared of snow on Friday and the registration also resumed. On Saturday, as many as 1,484 pilgrims visited the holy shrine and trekked from Ghagaria.
As per reports, the weather was pleasant on Saturday also and as of now, there does not seem to be any hindrance in the pilgrimage in the coming days.

As per the Gurdwara Hemkund Sahib Trust, accommodation for pilgrims visiting the holy shrine of Hemkund Sahib are available at all its gurdwaras and dharamshalas starting from Haridwar, Rishikesh, Srinagar, Joshimath, Govindghat, Govind Dham ( Ghagaria).
On the other hand, Uttarakhand's Chamoli district administration said the ban on children and elderly above 60 from attending Hemkund Sahib Yatra continued as of now.
Gurdwara management committee president Narendrajit Singh Bindra said the number of pilgrims for the yatra had also been limited, adding that sick people, children and elderly would not be allowed until further orders
