PTC News Desk: Himachal Pradesh Minister for Public Works and Urban Development Vikramaditya Singh tied the knot with Amreen Sekhon, a Panjab university professor and long-time acquaintance, in a private ceremony held in Chandigarh on September 22.

The couple tied the knot as per Sikh wedding rituals. Both of them got married in an Anand Karaj ceremony at a gurudwara located in Sector 11, Chandigarh. It was an intimate ceremony with only close friends and relatives in attendance from both the sides.

Who is Dr Amreen Kaur?

Dr Amreen Kaur is an assistant professor of psychology at Panjab University, Chandigarh. She holds a PhD in Psychology, along with master’s degrees in English and Psychology, and has also pursued studies at Harvard University.

She is the daughter of Jatinder Singh Sekhon, a senior High Court lawyer, and Opinder Kaur, who has been actively engaged in social initiatives. The family resides in Sector 2, Chandigarh.

This will be Vikramaditya Singh’s second wedding. His first marriage took place on March 8, 2019, when he wed Sudarshana Chundawat of the Amet royal family in Rajsamand, Rajasthan, in a grand ceremony attended by thousands across Jaipur, Delhi, Chandigarh, Shimla, and Rampur.

However, the relationship faced turbulence, and Sudarshana returned to her parents in Jaipur after differences emerged. In 2021, she accused Vikramaditya of an extramarital relationship. Later, in October 2022, she filed a domestic violence case in Udaipur court. The couple was formally granted divorce just two months ago.
