Middle East crisis:  Although tensions are simmering in the wake of the US-Iran conflict 2026, Indian oil companies have claimed as well as assured citizens that there was no dearth of petrol, diesel  or LPG in the country. They have sufficient supplies so far to meet the demands.  State-run firms such as Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited and Indian Oil Corporation Limited, in a statement on Wednesday, clarified that fuel supplies are stable and their distribution networks are working without any hindrance.

BPCL stated that India has sufficient fuel reserves and there is no reason for concern amid the rising Middle East crisis. The company also confirmed that its operations are running smoothly and it is fully prepared to maintain uninterrupted supply.

Strait of Hormuz disruption raises global concerns

It is the main key passage through which nearly one-fifth of the world’s oil and gas supply moves. with the closure of the Hormuz, shipping routes have affected and several oil tankers are facing delays. This has raised concerns over potential fuel shortages. However, the Indian authorities have reiterated that the nation is well-prepared to handle any external disruptions.

Spike in ‘lockdown’ searches sparks anxiety

Many people have been speculating whether the current global crisis could lead to similar restrictions.
