PTC Web Desk:  An IndiGo flight from Bengaluru to Ahmedabad was delayed for more than five hours after a hoax bomb threat note was discovered inside the aircraft on Thursday evening, prompting an immediate security response.

According to airline sources, the incident occurred while the aircraft was preparing for departure. As a precaution, the flight was grounded and security agencies were alerted.

Flight grounded after suspicious note found

The IndiGo flight, 6E 6423, was originally scheduled to depart for Ahmedabad at 8 pm on Thursday. Soon after a suspicious note claiming the presence of a bomb was found inside the aircraft, airport authorities activated standard security procedures. Passengers and crew were kept safe while the aircraft underwent detailed checks.

Airline officials said all prescribed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and security protocols were strictly followed.

Aircraft cleared after thorough inspection

Bomb detection teams and security personnel carried out an extensive search of the aircraft. After completing all mandatory security checks and finding no threat, the plane was cleared for departure. The flight finally took off for Ahmedabad at 1:21 am on Friday, more than five hours behind schedule.

Investigation underway

Police and airport security agencies have launched an investigation to identify who placed the fake bomb threat note inside the aircraft and how it was brought onboard. Officials have not reported any explosives or suspicious objects being found during the inspection. Further investigation is ongoing.
