Iron rod enters window, pierces man's neck on board Delhi-Kanpur train

New Delhi, December 2: In a tragic incident, a man on board the Delhi-Kanpur Neelachal Express who was sitting on the corner seat, died after an iron rod broke through a glass window of the coach and pierced his the neck.

The accident took place around 8:45 am between Danwar and Somna in Prayagraj division of the North Central Railway.

"One person died in general coach by external object (iron rod) which damaged the window. the Delhi-Kanpur Neelachal Express was stopped at the Aligarh junction at 09.23 hrs," the railway spokesperson said.


The victim was identified as Hrishekesh Dubey. He was sitting on the corner seat when the iron rod pierced his neck. The body was handed over to the GRP.
