You are blessed to get such in-laws: Kanpur womans heartbreaking final note leaves family in tears
A 28-year-old woman in Kanpur died by suicide after battling a spinal illness. In her final note, she thanked her husband and in-laws for their care and said she was taking the step out of helplessness
PTC Web Desk: A 28-year-old woman in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur allegedly died by suicide after battling a serious spinal illness for a long time. Instead of blaming anyone, she left behind a heartfelt handwritten note expressing gratitude to her husband and in-laws for standing by her throughout her illness.
The deceased, identified as Nikki, also known as Vaishnavi, had married Shivam Shukla around three years ago. According to police and family members, she had been undergoing treatment in Kanpur as well as Delhi for her spinal condition.

Final note expressed gratitude
In her suicide note, Nikki wrote that she was unable to keep her promise of staying with her family forever. She requested her loved ones not to mourn her and thanked her in-laws for the care and support they had given her.
She wrote that she was fortunate to have such a caring family after marriage and said her decision was driven by helplessness caused by her illness.
Nikki also left instructions regarding her personal belongings. She wished her scooter and jewellery to be gifted to her younger brother-in-law's future wife, mentioning that the jewellery had been purchased with money given by her father. She also asked that her mobile phone be handed over to her mother-in-law.
Health concerns had deeply troubled her
According to family members, Nikki had recently cleared the written examination for Delhi Police recruitment and was preparing for the next stage. However, she had become increasingly worried that her spinal illness would prevent her from completing the recruitment process.
Her husband, Shivam Shukla, who works with the Indian Railways in Madhya Pradesh, said the family had continued her treatment and never gave up hope.
"Despite her illness, she was my biggest support. I still cannot understand why she took this step. We would have continued her treatment," he said. The couple is survived by their young son.
