Karnataka man killed in UAE, body found chopped into 9 parts found two months later; wife, son untraceable

PTC News Desk: A man from Karnataka’s Udupi district was allegedly murdered in Sharjah, UAE, in July. His body was later found cut into nine pieces and packed into two bags. The details of the case came to light nearly two months later after his family raised concerns about his disappearance.
The victim, Alwin Prakash Kunder, had been working at Sharjah Airport for around 14 years. He was living in the UAE with his wife, Tina Kunder, and their teenage son, who was studying in Class 10.
Tina, who is also from Udupi, worked as a school teacher. Both she and their son have reportedly been untraceable since Prakash’s death. Some reports suggest they may have left Sharjah and possibly travelled to India, but their current whereabouts have not been confirmed.
Family raised alarm over his disappearance
Prakash’s brother, Anil, said the family became concerned when Prakash suddenly stopped responding to calls and messages.
Prakash usually communicated with his family through voice messages. When he failed to respond for several days, Anil contacted Prakash’s classmate, Manohar, in Sharjah and asked him to check on him.
Manohar went to the company-provided flat where Prakash lived. The security guard reportedly told him that Prakash had travelled to India. The company’s HR department also initially gave the family the same information.
However, Anil told the company that Prakash had not returned to India and asked them to verify his whereabouts.
A later passport check reportedly showed that Prakash was still in Sharjah. His family then filed a missing-person complaint.
Body found inside car
During the search, Prakash’s body was reportedly discovered inside a car parked on a route towards Oman.
According to his brother, the body had been cut into nine pieces and placed in two bags. The remains were later identified as those of Prakash.
The circumstances surrounding the murder are still being investigated by Sharjah authorities. Police have not publicly revealed the identities of any suspects or established a motive.
There have also been reports questioning whether Prakash’s wife may have been involved. However, this remains an unverified allegation, and there is currently no confirmed evidence establishing her role in the murder.
