PTC News Desk: A district court in Patna on Tuesday granted interim protection from arrest to educator Faisal Khan, widely known as Khan Sir, in connection with a case arising from a firing incident at his coaching centre earlier this month.

The relief was provided while the court heard Khan's anticipatory bail application. The District Judge's court stated that investigators may continue questioning him as part of the probe, but no coercive measures, including arrest, can be taken against him during the period of interim protection.

Earlier, the court had instructed police to submit the case diary and evidence gathered during the investigation. Following arguments presented by Khan's legal team, the court granted interim relief. It also reserved its decision on the anticipatory bail plea of co-accused Roshan Anand.

The case stems from an incident on June 2, when a group of 15–20 individuals allegedly vandalised the premises of Khan Global Studies (KGS) in Patna and hurled stones at the institute. The following day, police detained two security guards linked to the coaching centre after a video circulated on social media allegedly showing them firing shots.

Authorities said the weapons purportedly used were seized and sent for forensic analysis. An FIR was later registered at Kadamkuan police station, and both guards remain in judicial custody.

Initially, Khan Sir alleged that people associated with a rival coaching institute were responsible for the attack on KGS. However, members of the rival institute later accused him of staging the incident. Referring to the viral video allegedly showing the guards opening fire, they claimed the episode had been orchestrated. Khan Sir has rejected the allegations, and the investigation is ongoing.
