CJP claims midnight breakthrough after talks with govt; cites withdrawal of FIRs
PTC News Desk: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has said it may have reached a breakthrough in talks with the Centre. Party spokesperson Saurav Das claimed that government representatives shared draft notifications promising to withdraw FIRs, release detained protesters, and ensure no further police action against those who took part in the agitation.
The development came just hours after the two-month-old organisation warned that it would restart its protest and launch a nationwide movement, accusing the BJP-led government of failing to honour promises made when the 49-day anti-NEET paper leak protest ended following the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on July 25.

According to the CJP, the government had promised to withdraw all FIRs filed by the Centre and BJP/NDA-ruled states against protesters and organisers, ensure no further action against participants, provide compensation to the families of NEET paper leak-related suicide victims, and consider the party's five-point plan for examination reforms.
In a post on X on Monday night, Das said government representatives met CJP leaders soon after their press conference and held discussions for nearly three hours.
He said officials shared draft notifications from the Bihar and Assam governments confirming the withdrawal of FIRs, the release of all detained and arrested protesters, and a promise that no further action would be taken against them.
Das added that the government also assured the CJP that similar notifications from the Centre and other BJP/NDA-ruled states would be issued by Tuesday.
"They have repeated their promise that the Union government and other BJP/NDA-ruled states will issue guarantee notifications by Tuesday. We hope the agreed wording will be used," Das said.
