PTC News Desk: Mob allegedly attacked a religious procession on Monday in Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde's home district Thane. The incident reportedly took place on Thane's Mira Road.

At least 13 people were arrested after the incident. The procession was carrying "Jai Shri Ram" flags in Thane district, according to Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday.
According to police, one person was seriously injured in the attack on Mira Road's Naya Nagar area, while a few others sustained minor injuries. Officers have arrested several people on charges of attempted murder, inciting hatred between two groups on religious grounds, rioting, and other offences.
According to officers, the incident occurred around 11 p.m., when a group of people passing by in vehicles carrying saffron flags and chanting "Jai Shri Ram". They were stopped by locals, and an argument ensued with people from another community. A large crowd quickly gathered on both sides, according to a senior police officer.
