Haryana: Four held after brief exchange of fire with police in Panipat for demanding 2.5 cr ransom
PTC News Desk: A joint team of Panipat CIA-1 and the Special Task Force, Sonepat arrested four miscreans after a brief exchange of fire in the Israna area of Panipat. During the encounter, one of the miscreants, Parmeet, sustained bullet injuries and was immediately rushed to the hospital.
The other three accused, Devender, Sahil and Aman, all residents of Haryana were arrested.
Panipat SP Bhupender Singh said the accused were wanted in a case related to an extortion demand of Rs 2.5 crore from a businessman, Yashpal Garg, a resident of the Chandnibagh police station area, on December 18. The extortion threat was allegedly made in the name of the Bambiha gang.
The police have also seized three weapons from the accused- two foreign-made pistols and a country-made pistol.
