Jammu and Kashmir: Six-year-old boy accidently discovers device, turns out to be Chinese telescope
PTC News Desk: A security alert was prompted after a six-year-old boy discovered a suspicious object from a garbage dump mistaking it as a toy, which later turned out to be a Chinese-made telescope equipped to be mounted on a weapon.
The discovery prompted a significant intensified checks near and around the sensitive areas. The child's family soon alerted the Jammu police. Officials said the telescope, designed to be fitted with a weapon, was secured following preliminary verification.

According to the officials, the six-year-old boy had found the object earlier in the day from a nearby garbage dump. During interrogation his family told the police that he had no knowlege about the object and accidently found it in a garbage dump.
Authorities moved swiftly to take custody of the device and seal off the immediate surroundings as a precautionary measure.
In view of the discovery, security measures were significantly tightened in and around Sidhra, where the object was found. Notably, the area also houses National Investigation Agency office and the device was found not far away from office premises, adding mounting concerns over its presence.
