NEET-UG 2026 paper leak: CBI arrests Latur coaching centre owner Shivraj Motegaonkar
CBI has arrested Renukai Chemistry Classes operator Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar from Maharashtra’s Latur in connection with the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case after allegedly recovering leaked exam material from his mobile phone
PTC Web Desk: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar, the operator of Renukai Chemistry Classes (RCC) in Maharashtra’s Latur district, in connection with the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case, officials said on Monday.
According to investigators, the agency recovered a leaked question paper related to the medical entrance examination from Motegaonkar’s mobile phone during searches conducted on Sunday. Following the discovery, he was taken into custody for questioning and later formally arrested.
The CBI suspects that Motegaonkar was part of an organised network involved in obtaining and distributing confidential examination material ahead of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026.
Officials alleged that he received the question paper and answer key before the examination through a conspiracy involving other accused persons. The agency further claimed that the material was circulated among multiple individuals before the exam was conducted.
The arrest is part of the CBI’s ongoing investigation into the wider paper leak racket, which has raised serious concerns over the integrity of one of the country’s biggest medical entrance examinations.
The agency is continuing its probe to identify other individuals linked to the alleged network and determine the extent of the leak.
