PTC News Desk: In the aftermath of Pahalgam terror attack, Indian forces launched Operation Sindoor ans struck nine terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir.

What followed was military confrontation between both the nations, which came to a halt following a ceasefire in May 2025. A controversy broke out after a Pakistani military officer claimed that two Indian airbases were targeted during the recent India-Pakistan tensions — even though one of the locations mentioned does not actually have an airbase.

Pakistan Air Force officer Aurangzeb Ahmed said, “We were assigned two targets, Rajouri Airbase and Mamun Airbase, and we successfully engaged them.”

However, while Rajouri is a district in Jammu and Kashmir, there is no known airbase there. Mamun is a military cantonment area near Pathankot in Punjab, but not widely recognised as a separate airbase.

The remarks came after “Operation Sindoor,” during which there were reports of airspace violations and military activity across Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. On May 10, 2025, Pakistani forces reportedly used the Fatah-1 guided artillery rocket, which Indian air defence systems claimed to have intercepted and destroyed.

A clip of the officer’s statement quickly spread across social media, where many users mocked the comments and questioned the accuracy of the claims. Netizens joked about when these supposed airbases were “built” and criticised the statement as inaccurate and misleading.

“Archaeologists, cartographers, Google maps, and the Indian air force have launched a joint mission to locate legendary “Rajouri airbase and Mamun airbase", one user wrote.

“Fateh-1 hits Rajouri and Mamun airbases so hard that they cease to even exist! Next Target: Atlantis"? wrote another user.
