PM Modi on WhatsApp Channels: WhatsApp users will now get all of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's updates, as the PM has joined the newly launched feature of the social media platform.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined WhatsApp Channels on Tuesday, only days after WhatsApp rolled out the feature.
Sharing his first post on WhatsApp Channels, the PM said, “Thrilled to join the WhatsApp community! It is yet another step closer in our journey of continued interactions. Let’s stay connected here! Here’s a picture from the new Parliament building…”
On September 13, Meta introduced WhatsApp Channels in India and over 150 other countries to provide a more private way to receive updates.
“Today we're starting to roll out WhatsApp Channels globally and adding thousands of new channels that people can follow in WhatsApp. You can find Channels in the new 'Updates' tab," Meta chief executive officer Mark Zuckerberg said.
WhatsApp Channels are a one-way broadcast network that provides a private way to get updates from people and organizations that are important to you, directly within WhatsApp.
WhatsApp's goal with Channels is to create the most private broadcast service available. Channels are separate from chats, and who you choose to follow is hidden from other followers.
