Pune horror: Sons beat elderly parents with sticks on road over selling property

PTC News Desk: A family dispute over land transaction took an ugly turn in Pune district after two brothers assaulted their elderly parents with wooden sticks on village road, police said.
A 65-year-old farmer Tukaram Kisan and his ailing wife Anjana were confronted by their sons Sanjay and Rajendra Raut. The couple had stepped out for a walk when the two accused arrived in a car and stopped them.
Police said the brothers were upset because their father had decided to sell land owned by their mother. An argument broke out, during which the brothers allegedly abused their parents and demanded that the land deal be cancelled.
According to a complaint filed by Tukaram, the argument turned violent when the two brothers allegedly attacked him and his wife, Anjana, with wooden sticks.
Tukaram suffered injuries to his back, face, thighs and left shoulder. Anjana was injured on her wrist and waist. Tukaram told police that the brothers also threatened them and demanded that the land transaction be reversed.
People passing by gathered at the spot and informed the police. After reaching the location, police took Tukaram and Anjana to the Indapur sub-district hospital for treatment.
Some local residents recorded the incident on video, and the footage was later shared on social media.
Based on Tukaram's complaint, police have registered a case against the two brothers.
