Uttar Pradesh flood fury: Three killed in rain-related incidents, over 16,00 evacuated
The state government said 1,499 boats and motorboats have been deployed for rescue and relief operations. Around 1,067 medical teams are also working in the affected areas.
PTC News Desk: Flood conditions continued in several parts of Uttar Pradesh, with 16,784 people evacuated to safer places so far. Officials said 3,042 people were rescued on Wednesday alone. Of the 35 districts affected by flooding, 23 are still facing the impact.
Three people have died in rain-related incidents. The victims include 18-month-old Priyansh from Pratapgarh, and 32-year-old Shera and 55-year-old Suresh from Gajraula in Amroha.

The state government said 1,499 boats and motorboats have been deployed for rescue and relief operations. Around 1,067 medical teams are also working in the affected areas.
The 23 flood-hit districts are Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Ballia, Barabanki, Badaun, Chandauli, Farrukhabad, Ghazipur, Gorakhpur, Hardoi, Kasganj, Lakhimpur Kheri, Mirzapur, Moradabad, Pilibhit, Prayagraj, Raebareli, Sant Kabir Nagar, Shahjahanpur, Sitapur, Sonbhadra, Unnao and Varanasi.
The government has set up 1,311 flood relief shelters across the state, of which 201 are currently functioning. Relief agencies have also provided assistance in 442 cases involving damaged houses. Around 36,287 livestock have been affected by the floods.
In Chitrakoot, motorboats operated by the 42nd Battalion of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) rescued nearly 150 people who were stranded in Chaura village near the Mandakini River. The rescued villagers were also given food, relief supplies and medical assistance.
20,500 people affected
In Ballia, nearly 20,500 people have been affected after the water levels of the Ganga and Saryu rivers increased.
Authorities have deployed 83 boats in the district. They have also distributed 6,500 ration kits, 33,843 medicine kits and more than 83,000 packets of cooked food.
Vaccination has been provided to 16,629 livestock, while 965 quintals of animal fodder have been supplied.
Flood monitoring posts have been set up, along with teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and PAC.
Officials said relief shelters and community kitchens have also been opened at Gopalnagar Tadi and Bhojpurwa to support people affected by the floods.
