Patiala cleanest city in Punjab, Mohali second

Swachh Survekshan 2021: Patiala has been entitled as the cleanest city in Punjab in the Swachh Survekshan, an annual survey of cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation in cities and towns across India.

SAS Nagar (Mohali) bagged second spot in Swachh Survekshan 202, while Bathinda is third in the category of Urban Local Body (ULB) having a population between 1 and 10 lakh. Patiala has got 58th position in the All India Rank with 3713.78 points.

Patiala has improved its ranking from 86 in 2020 to 58 in 2021.

Patiala Mayor, Sanjeev Sharma Bittu, said that it was the contribution of residents and the hard work of workers of Municipal Corporation (MC).

Former Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh, took to Twitter and wrote: "Congratulations to the people of Patiala for making it the cleanest city in Punjab. It’s been a steady journey from being ranked AIR 411 in 2017 to 58 in 2021. A special word of praise for the Mayor, Councillors & MC officials & the District Administration. Keep it up!"

Likewise, Vineet Kumar, Patiala Municipal Corporation Commissioner also congratulated all the residents of Patiala city.
