Amid farmers protest against farm laws 2020, the police has issued warning to vacate the protest site at Tikri border or else face legal proceedings.

The warning issued to farmers at Tikri border reads: "The gathering has been announced illegal and hence you all are advised to disperse the crowd or else face legal proceedings."

The development comes after the Samyukta Kisan Morcha announced further strategies to intensify farmers' protest against farm laws 2020.

As per the announcement, February 23 will be observed as ‘Pagadi Sambhal Diwas’ and February 24 will be celebrated as ‘Daman Virodhi Diwas’.

Amid farmers protest against farm laws 2020, police issued warning to vacate the protest site at Tikri border or else face legal proceedings.

It also announced that February 26 will be observed as ‘Yuva Kisan Diwas’ (youth farmers day) while February 27 as ‘Mazdoor Kisan Ekta Divas’.

A total of 11 rounds meeting took place between the farmers and the Centre but all of them remained inconclusive. It is pertinent to mention that since then there has been a complete deadlock between them.

Thousands of farmers have been protesting against contentious farm laws 2020 i.e. Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, and Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
