PTC Web Desk: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday launched a sharp attack on the BJP following the resignation of several AAP Rajya Sabha members, accusing the party of attempting to destabilise the political landscape in the state.

Reacting to the development, CM Mann alleged that the BJP had “betrayed the people of Punjab” by engineering defections after failing to find any credible issues against his government. He claimed that the move was part of a larger strategy to weaken the AAP in the state.

“When the opposition could not find anything against us, they resorted to breaking the party,” CM Mann said, asserting that such tactics would not succeed.

The Chief Minister also took a strong stance against the departing MPs, describing them as “betrayers of Punjab.” He said the exit of six to seven persons did not undermine the party’s strength or its connection with the people.

“A party is always bigger than individuals. Punjab does not end with a few people leaving,” he remarked.

CM Mann further expressed confidence that the people of Punjab continue to stand firmly with the AAP. He maintained that the party’s organisational structure remains intact and united and that the recent developments would not have any significant impact on its functioning or public support.

The political developments come at a crucial time, with the AAP leadership aiming to consolidate its position in Punjab amid increasing pressure from opposition parties.
