Punjab flood: Shiromani Akali Dal protests for compensation, assistance to victims

Punjab flood: Responding to the plight of flood victims, the Shiromani Akali Dal has initiated a protest in Patiala today at 11 am.

The recent heavy rains in the region have wreaked havoc in Punjab, leaving many people displaced and facing immense hardships. Recognising the ongoing challenges faced by the affected populace, the Shiromani Akali Dal has taken a proactive stance to aid flood victims.


The party's protest is set to take the form of a sit-in demonstration at Devigarh in Patiala. The leader of the Shiromani Akali Dal, President Sukhbir Singh Badal, will lead this protest. The primary demand of the demonstration is the provision of compensation amounting to Rs 50,000 per acre for the crops that were lost due to the floods.


Sukhbir Singh Badal, while spearheading the protest, is also personally visiting areas affected by the floods. His recent visit took him to the village of Huseniwala. During this visit, he is engaging with the flood-affected individuals to understand their challenges and concerns. The Shiromani Akali Dal is committed to extending every possible form of assistance to the victims during this trying time.
