Unidentified bike-borne assailants open fire at doctor’s house and car in Jalandhar’s Santokhpura

At the time of the attack, the doctor and his family were inside the house asleep; fortunately, no injuries were reported

PTC Web Desk:  Panic gripped Santokhpura locality in Jalandhar after two unidentified youths opened fire at a doctor’s residence late at night before fleeing the scene.

According to initial information, the attackers arrived on a motorcycle around 1.40 am and first targeted a car parked outside the house. Moments later, they fired multiple rounds toward the main gate and the building before escaping. More than 12 shots were reportedly discharged during the incident.

The house belongs to Dr Yashpal, a veterinary specialist currently posted in Moga. At the time of the attack, the doctor and his family were inside the house asleep. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, though bullet marks were clearly visible on the walls and the parked vehicle.

The entire episode was captured on nearby CCTV cameras, providing crucial leads for investigators.

Soon after being alerted, police teams reached the spot, cordoned off the area and began collecting evidence. Senior officers also inspected the scene and directed officials to expedite the probe.

ADCP (Investigation) Jayant Puri confirmed that CCTV footage from the locality has been seized to help identify the suspects. Multiple police teams have been deployed to conduct raids and trace the assailants.

Family members of the doctor stated that they have no known enmity with anyone, leaving the motive behind the attack unclear. The police are examining all possible angles as the investigation continues.
