Major tragedy averted as school bus with 43 children on board catches fire; passersby break windows to rescue kids
A private school bus carrying 43 children caught fire on Bathinda's Bibi Wala Road. All students were safely evacuated with help from the driver and passersby.
PTC Web Desk: Panic broke out on Bibi Wala road in Bathinda after a private school bus carrying 43 children caught fire on Saturday. The students were returning home after school when the bus suddenly caught fire while passing through the area. The children were reportedly frightened as smoke and flames began spreading inside the vehicle.
As soon as the fire was noticed, the driver sought help from people nearby. The bus windows were broken to create an emergency exit, allowing the children to get out of the vehicle safely.

According to preliminary information provided by the driver, the fire may have started because of a short circuit in the bus's electrical wiring.
A large number of people gathered at the spot following the incident. The exact cause of the fire, however, will be known only after a detailed inspection of the vehicle and an investigation into its technical condition.
The incident has once again raised concerns about the safety and maintenance of school buses carrying children.
