PTC Web Desk: Mattresses being brought into the GMADA headquarters in Mohali have become a clear sign that the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) search operation is likely to continue for an extended period.
The ED operation at the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) headquarters in Phase 8 entered its second day on Wednesday. The searches, which began on Tuesday morning, have continued through the night, with several officials and members of the investigating team remaining inside the building.
Sources said mattresses were brought in from a nearby gurdwara as the operation continued. Food for the officials and ED personnel was also reportedly arranged from a local sweet shop.

More ED personnel reach GMADA office
The ED has expanded its operation at the GMADA headquarters, with more than 100 personnel from the agency and central forces reportedly present inside the premises.
The development comes after investigators sealed three floors of the building while examining records and documents as part of the ongoing probe.
With the search continuing into Wednesday evening, additional mattresses were brought to the premises. They were reportedly transported on a two-wheeler as arrangements were made for the personnel expected to remain inside the building overnight.
Senior official taken home to freshen up
During the day, Vikas Garg, Secretary, Housing, Punjab, who is among the officials being questioned in connection with the investigation, was taken to his residence in an ED vehicle to freshen up, sources said.
According to the sources, the vehicle used a gate where media personnel were not present before returning to the GMADA premises.
The movement took place as the ED continued questioning officials and examining documents inside the headquarters.
Search continues at GMADA headquarters
The ED’s extended presence at the GMADA office has drawn attention in Mohali, with the agency continuing to examine official records as part of its investigation.
The searches are linked to a wider money-laundering probe involving Tirupati Infraprojects and other companies and their dealings with GMADA.
Officials have remained inside the premises as investigators continue the search and questioning. The ED has not announced any arrest in connection with the ongoing operation so far.
The investigation is still underway, and further details are expected as the agency completes its searches and examines the documents and financial records recovered during the operation.
