Amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine crisis, which has entered its fifth day, a video of Indian students being beaten up on the Ukraine-Poland border went viral all over social media.

A bizarre video came to highlight on Sunday, in which Indian students can be seen harassed and beaten by Ukrainian guards at the Poland border. Several students, who were stuck for more than 72 hours, have alleged that they were ill-treated, kicked, beaten and harassed.

One of the viral videos which were shot during nighttime shows a Ukrainian soldier kicking a student wheeling his suitcase behind him. Even though the nationality of the harassed student is not certain, numerous Indian students camping at the border have alleged being abused and beaten up by the Ukrainian forces.

The tragic reports come as India abstained from voting and condemning the Russian invasion at the UN Security Council.

Several Indian students stranded in the war-torn nation have also expressed their disappointments on how they have been treated by Ukrainian security personnel.

"Situation is getting worse day by day. What is happening is they are torturing us. Indian students are being tortured. They are not allowing us to cross over to Poland. Even women students are being harassed. They are being pulled by their hair and hit with rods. Some women students have suffered fractures and injuries," said Mansi Chaudhary, an Indian student stuck in at the Ukraine-Poland border.

Another Indian student, Deeksha Pandey, a senior resident in neurology at Sumy National University stated that “People at the border are troubled and harassed. Girls are being pulled from their hair and tortured. I don't know what's the reason for the aggression.”

Rahul Gandhi also shared the video on his Twitter handle and wrote, "My heart goes out to the Indian students suffering such violence and their family watching these videos. No parent should go through this. GOI must urgently share the detailed evacuation plan with those stranded as well as their families. We can’t abandon our own people."

Even though the Kerala government appealed to the students to move to borders only as per directions of the embassy official and students followed the directions, they were attacked at the Ukraine-Poland borders at Shehyni.

As the Russian troops broaden their offensive, some are hiding in bunkers, underground parking areas, bomb shelters, etc to save themselves from the ongoing crisis.
