Noida Scrap Mafia: Ravi Kana, partner Kajal Jha with Rs 120 crore arrested in Thailand
Noida Scrap Mafia: The notorious figure known as the Noida Scrap Mafia, Ravi Kana along with his partner Kajal Jha has been apprehended in Thailand.
Ravi Kana hailing from western Uttar Pradesh, had been evading the Noida Police due to his involvement in various criminal activities.
The Noida Police had maintained close communication with their counterparts in Thailand, providing them with comprehensive information regarding Kana. A red corner notice had been issued against him earlier in January.
Kana found himself on the wrong side of the law after being charged under the stringent Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act following a case filed against him by the Greater Noida police on January 2.
Operating with a 16-member gang, Kana, also known as Ravindra Nagar, orchestrated illegal activities surrounding the procurement and sale of rebar and scrap materials. His ascent to wealth came through illicit means, primarily by extorting businesses across the Delhi-NCR region.
The gangster faced over 11 criminal cases, including charges of kidnapping and theft. While six of his associates have already been apprehended, several scrap godowns operated by the gang in Greater Noida have been shut down.
The Noida Police had taken action against Kana and his associates, seizing assets amounting to over Rs 120 crore. Additionally, earlier in January, a lavish South Delhi bungalow valued at Rs 100 crore, gifted by Kana to his girlfriend Kajal Jha, was raided and sealed.
Jha, initially seeking employment, eventually became a crucial member of Kana's enterprise, handling the financial records of his clandestine properties.
