SAD demands criminal case be registered against Veerpal Kaur for hurting sentiments of Sikh community
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) submitted a complaint to the Chandigarh Police demanding a case be registered against Dera Sirsa supporter Veerpal Kaur for hurting the sentiments of the Sikh community by committing blasphemy against the Guru Sahiban.
SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal led the party delegation including S Balwinder Singh Bhundur, Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra and Dr Daljit Singh Cheema and demanded that Veerpal Kaur be booked under sections 153, 153 (a), 153 (b) 295 (a) and 298 (b) IPC to ensure justice was delivered to all Sikhs, Punjabi community and Guru Naam Levas all over the world.
The complaint said on July 14 Veerpal made derogatory and malicious allegations aimed at tarnishing Sukhbir Singh Badal’s personal, political, public and social reputation. It said subsequently the allegations were repeated on July 15.
