Government hikes customs duty on 19 items; See Complete Table
The central government have announced the hike in Customs duty on selected items on Wednesday. The hike in Customs Duty is to bring down the current account deficit and to stabilize the falling rupee. The custom Duty is hiked on 19 items like Consumer appliances like Refrigerator, Air conditioner, televisions, etc.
The new prices were made effective from 26-27 midnight.

With this move, they would be able to bring down the imports of non-essential imports. In the year 2017-18, the total value of imports of these 19 items was Rs. 86,000 crore.
If Aviation turbine fuel’s import duty increased, it would make your flying mostly costly!
