Shashi Tharoor hospitalized after head injuries during a ritual in Kerala

Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram, Shashi Tharoor, was hospitalized after he received head injuries while offering prayers at a temple in Kerala on Monday. He was participating in a "thulabharam" ritual when this accident took place. It is a tradition of weighing a person on a giant scale against the offering to God.

According to media reports, during the ritual, the scales gave away and stuck him on the head. He was heavily bandaged and was wheeled into the hospital. The crisp yellow kurta was stained with blood. He was rushed to a hospital where he received eight stitches. The doctors declared his condition to be out of danger.
