Sikh pilgrims leave for Nankana Sahib (in Pakistan) from Attari

Punjab: The first group of Sikh pilgrims has left for Nankana Sahib, Pakistan from Attari to celebrate the 550th Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on Thursday. Preparations for the celebrations are on in full swing.

On October 24, India and Pakistan signed an agreement to operationalize Kartarpur corridor. This is the first time non-visa movement is being initiated across the border despite tensions between the two countries involved.

Air India also launched the first flight connecting Amritsar and London with 'Ik Onkar' painted on its tail.

Air India aircraft Boeing 787 Dreamliner has taken its first flight to facilitate Sikh pilgrims visiting Punjab on the occasion of 550th Parkash Purb.
