Amritpal Singh manhunt: Waris Punjab De chief used gurdwara to store weapons : Report

Officials said, youths were admitted in the de-addiction centres used to teach and pushed towards the gun culture.

Chandigarh, March 20: Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh is currently on the run, the security agencies and Punjab Police has launched a massive manhunt against him and it has entered the third day. The search operation is on tp nab hi and his supporters regarding the criminal changers those are filed against him. 

Various security agencies have had raised red flag after getting inputs from agencies which suggested that pro-Khalistan preacher Amritpal Singh used drug de-addiction centres and gurdwara for stockpiling weapons. According to officials, he was also preparing youths to carry out suicide attacks.

On Saturday Punjab Police launched a "massive state-wide cordon and search operations (CASO)" in the state against elements of the 'Waris Punjab De'. The self-styled radical preacher Amritpal Singh is on run since the massive crackdown has been launched. Punjab police till now arrested 78 members in connection to Amritpal Singh. 

According to the information, Singh has returned last year from Dubai and allegedly at the behest of Pakistan's ISI and Khalistan sympathisers residing overseas, was mainly engaged in brainwashing youths to become "khadkoos" or human bombs.

While the search operation was on police recovered several arms and ammunition meant for the so-called Anandpur Khalsa Front (AKF). In the meantime, police confiscated uniforms and jackets which are recovered, according to the officials. 

As per to the reports, the youths who were admitted in the de-addiction centres used to be indoctrinated and pushed towards the "gun culture". It has also come to our knowledge that the youths were brainwashed to choose the path of terrorist Dilawar Singh, who acted as a human bomb and killed former Punjab chief minister Beant Singh, the officials said.
